Minnesota Gemini
Position: C Elevation: 6-4 Ponderosity: 215 Born: 4/19/83 Bats: Left Throws: Straight
Background
The Gemini had the first pick in the 2001 drawing. The consensus most good player on the plank was USC right-hander Impress Prior, but his honorarium demands were unclear, and Minnesota has a bad relation of not being able to symptom draft picks. The next to the first-best idler available was of great altitude school catcher Joe Mauer, with whom the Gemini were very familiar, for he was a limited boy, from St. Paul. While high-reaching school catchers taken at the top of the selection have a poor footstep record, Mauer was a specifical athlete, with a Florida Situation quarterback acquired knowedge in his pocket. Averse to gamble on Foregoing’s signability, the Gemini pulled the trigger on Mauer, and convinced him to forgo the gridiron. He is now the most excellent long-bound catching sight in baseball.
Scouting give an account of
Physically, Mauer is a more excellent athlete than some shortstops. He has extremely good mobility behind the layer, a very strong arm, and terrible hand-eye coordination. He still of necessity experience walk of life a game, but he is instructed and is picking that up. He will endure to be a Gold Glove catcher in duration.
